There are two minutes given in each half in the NFL where teams get a chance to change tactics if they want and regroup. No such two-minute warning is given in college football.
Down by Contact
This is one of the major differences between the NCAA and NFL football. If a player is forced down in the NFL, the play is over. This means that if a player hasn’t been forced down and they fall or slip without coming in contact with another player, the play isn’t over, and the player can continue the play.
However, in NCAA, the play is over the second the player touches the ground. It doesn’t matter if there was or wasn’t any contact with another player.
